Privacy Policy

The short version

TokLiveRecorder works in two ways, and they handle your data differently:

• Cloud recording (this website) — our servers record the livestream for you, so the resulting video file is stored on our servers. It is kept for 7 days so you can download it, then deleted automatically.
• Desktop app — recordings are created and stored on your own computer and are never uploaded to us.

Beyond that we collect only what is needed to run your account: the basic profile Google shares when you sign in, your recording history, plus basic anonymous website analytics.

Cloud recordings

When you paste a link and start a cloud recording, our servers connect to the public livestream and record it on your behalf. As part of this we store:

• The recorded video file, in private storage that only the browser session or signed-in account that created it can download. It is automatically deleted 7 days after the recording is created.
• Details of what you recorded — the link you submitted, the streamer's public display name, the stream title and cover image, the duration, file size and status. This is what powers your "My Recordings" list.
• The IP address the request came from, used only to prevent abuse of the free plan.

We do not watch, analyse or share your recordings, and we do not use them to train any model. Staff access is limited to what is required to operate and debug the service. You can delete a recording at any time by asking us — see "Your rights" below.

Account data (Google sign-in)

When you sign in with Google we receive and store your email address, display name, profile picture URL and a Google account identifier. We use them to create your account, keep you signed in and show who you're signed in as. We never see your Google password and we request no access to your Gmail, contacts or files. Signed-in sessions are stored as securely hashed tokens and expire automatically.

To enforce the free usage limit we also store a count of recordings — a running total for anonymous browser sessions, or a per-day count once you sign in. For desktop-app recordings that count is all we hold — we do not know what you recorded. For cloud recordings we additionally hold the details listed above.

AI features

Speech-to-text transcription runs locally on your computer. If you use the optional AI clip and analysis features, the transcript text you submit is forwarded through our server to an AI provider to generate the result, then returned to you. We do not use this content to train models and we do not keep it beyond what is needed to process the request.

What we collect on this website

• Email address — only if you submit it in a signup form. We use it to send you the download link, launch updates and occasional product news. Every email includes an unsubscribe option. We store the email together with the page it was submitted from, the submission time, your browser's user-agent string and coarse country code.
• Link detection — when you paste a link on the home page, the format is checked in your own browser. The link itself is only sent to us when you start a recording.
• Monitoring — if you ask us to watch a streamer for their next LIVE, we store the account you chose, whether auto-record is on, the result and time of each check, and when the monitoring expires. While a monitor is active we check that account's public live status on your behalf until you remove it or it expires.
• Analytics — standard, aggregate website analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). No advertising trackers.

What the desktop app does and doesn't do

The desktop app records streams directly from your machine to your chosen local folder. We do not receive, store or have any access to those recordings, your watchlist or the accounts you record. The app contacts our servers only to check for software updates, sign you in and validate your free usage quota. This is different from cloud recording on this website, which is described above.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run this product — hosting (Cloudflare), email delivery and the AI provider described above — under their own privacy obligations.

Your rights

Cloud recordings delete themselves after 7 days. You can also unsubscribe from emails at any time, and you can ask us to delete a specific recording, or your account, email and all associated data, by writing to support@tokliverecorder.com. We'll do it within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll note it here with a new "last updated" date.
