What the limits actually mean
The limits exist for one reason: to keep cloud recording free and available for everyone. Here is the honest version of how the recorder behaves.
Recording length
A live that runs past 2 hours does not fail. The recording stops cleanly at the cap and the MP4 stays valid and downloadable — you keep everything captured up to that point.
How many per day
Each account can start up to 5 cloud recordings per day. A recording only counts once it actually starts capturing a live — if a streamer turns out to be offline or the link can't be recorded, it doesn't use up one of your daily recordings. The counter resets every day.
How long we keep your files
Cloud recordings sit in private storage for 7 days, then get deleted automatically — we email you before that happens. Download the MP4 inside that window and the file is yours permanently, with no expiry and no DRM. Recordings made with the desktop app never touch our servers: they're written straight to your own disk.
Pricing — FAQ
How much does TokLiveRecorder cost?
It is free. Recording TikTok and Kick LIVE streams in the cloud costs nothing — your first few recordings need no sign-up at all, and signing in with Google raises your limit and ties recordings to your account. There is no credit card and no subscription.
Are there any usage limits on the free service?
Yes — fair-use limits keep the service free and available for everyone. Without an account you get 5 free recordings (tied to your browser); sign in with Google and you get 5 recordings per day. Each can run up to 2 hours, in original quality. Files are kept in private storage for 7 days so you can download them. Need a higher limit? Email support@tokliverecorder.com.
Do recordings lose quality?
No. Every recording is captured in the original stream quality — no watermark, no re-encoding and no resolution caps.
How long are cloud recordings kept?
Cloud recordings are stored in private storage for 7 days, then deleted automatically — we email you before that happens. Download the MP4 within that window and the file is yours to keep. Desktop-app recordings are saved straight to your own computer and are never deleted by us.
What happens if a live runs longer than 2 hours?
The recording stops cleanly at the 2-hour cap and the MP4 stays valid and downloadable — you keep everything captured up to that point.
Do I need to install anything to record a TikTok live?
No. Cloud recording runs entirely in your browser — paste a link and our servers do the recording. The optional free desktop app adds 24/7 auto-record and support for Twitch, Kick, YouTube and X.
