About TokLiveRecorder

TokLiveRecorder saves livestreams as original-quality MP4 files. Paste a TikTok LIVE link on the web and we record it for you in the cloud — nothing to install, works on a phone — or use the desktop app for Windows and Mac to record TikTok LIVE, Twitch, Kick, YouTube and X straight to your own drive.

Why we built it

Livestreams are the most perishable content on the internet: the moment a TikTok LIVE ends, it's gone for viewers, and even the creator's private replay expires in 30 days. Meanwhile the people who actually work with this footage — creators archiving their broadcasts, clip studios sourcing material, agencies keeping records of the channels they manage — were stuck choosing between cloud services that compress, expire and meter their recordings, or command-line scripts that need Python and a cookies file.

Then we looked at our own search data and found something we'd been getting wrong: most people looking for a TikTok live recorder are on a phone, and a Windows-and-Mac app is useless to them. So we built the version that meets them where they are — paste a link, we record it in the cloud, you download the file. The desktop app is still there for people who record for a living and want unlimited files that never expire.

What we believe

How the recording actually works

We think it's fair to explain what happens to a stream you hand us, because "record it in the cloud" can mean very different things. When you paste a LIVE link, we resolve the public broadcast address that TikTok already serves to viewers, and copy that stream to a file as it arrives. We are not re-filming a screen, and we are not re-encoding — which is why the MP4 you download is the same resolution and bitrate the platform was broadcasting.

Two consequences follow from that, and both are worth stating openly. First, a recording can only start while the stream is on air; once a broadcast ends, the address stops serving video and there is nothing left for anyone to capture. Second, we can only reach streams that are publicly reachable — a subscriber-only broadcast stays out of reach, and we don't try to work around that.

Who this is for

The people who get the most out of a TikTok live recorder are the ones for whom a lost stream costs something real:
